I live in Surrey with my partner Chris and our gorgeous daughter Emma.
I’ve always loved crafting and went to art college way back in the ‘olden days’ before changing direction and becoming a primary school teacher and later a teacher for children with a diagnosis of ASD. Throughout the years I have continued to craft, attending evening classes for cake making and watercolour painting but it hasn’t been until recently that I really found something I’ve made into my mini business.
My CHARMing Journey
My CHARMing journey began the Christmas of 2015 when I made some Christmas themed wine charms and sold them to friends. Following on from this I bought a range of charms and made a variety of sets, selling them at craft fairs and school fetes.
Further down the line, I continue to make wine charms but have expanded into keyrings, handbag charms, bouquet and garter pins and purses. In addition I have recently branched out into jewellery such as earrings and wire wrapped pendants and also make commissioned goods such as dream catchers, candle decorations and wedding keepsakes such as bracelets and wine charms.
What Inspires Me
My inspiration comes from fashion and home bloggers, nature and some amazing friends who often give me ideas which I am able to bring to life. Sometimes the smallest things trigger the best crafts and my little girl certainly sparks a lot of the children’s items I make.
Crafting is not only something I enjoy but it also allows me to switch off from work and find some ‘me’ time, a good opportunity to provide my own wellbeing whilst also making people happy with my handcrafted goods.
The Future
So what about the future? Well, moving forward I would love to expand the range of items I am able to sell and find time to do more more crafts such as crochet. I’m also hugely interested in making a wedding range and wedding favours so this will be my focus after Christmas.
