Hi, My name is Lesley-Anne and I run My Little Honee Bee.

I am a stay at home mum to three kids, Jonathan (9) Rose (2) and Mattias (1). I’ve always loved to craft especially for the kids birthdays. From drawing invitations to making signs, or the cakes. This year’s joint party is no different and I can’t wait to share the new things I’m creating with you.

Starting up my own business

Why did I start My Little Honee Bee?

I had made bunting and crowns and aprons among other bits for my youngest’s first birthday and people said I should start up my own wee business.

I couldn’t believe it, I was so sceptical about it and pushed it off for a couple months. But as I made more things I found that I really and truly loved doing it. The creating the design, making the template, cutting everything out and sewing it together.

I get a massive sense of achievement from doing it. I always strive to make the best items I can. I enjoy making every single thing and I love coming up with some new makes too.

The name My Little Honee Bee came about because that is what I call my little girl and I just loved the name.

In a world away from felt…

What do I get up to away from the world of felt?

As you can imagine having 3 kids, especially 2 with just eleven months between them, life can be chaotic to say the least. Trying to navigate through the days of nap times, tantrums, fights and the gazillion snacks that they want, as well as homework, is sometimes head frying.

So I like to sit with a good book, a big mug of tea and just become engrossed in the pages that I find myself reading. If I don’t get to have the peace and quiet I add to the noise and stick on our Alexa and sing away to all sorts of songs from Christian to pop, soundtracks to show tunes and sometimes the songs I did for my exams.

In the evening when the kids are in bed, and if I don’t have to work I like to just cozy up on the sofa (with another big cup of tea) under my fleecy blanket and enjoy a good movie.

I definitely prefer the simple things in life and I love being able to add to the special occasions for kids (and adults alike) and brightening their day.
