Hand stamping is different to engraving in that each character is individually hand stamped with a hammer, which means each piece may vary slightly in depth or spacing of the letters – but this is what gives them their charm! Once stamped and polished, letters are darkened with a temporary, non toxic enamel. This will eventually fade, but can easily be reapplied at home with an enamel or sharpie pen.
