Understanding How Made By Mums Works
Made By Mums is a handmade marketplace that connects customers with independent makers and small businesses across the UK.
Our role is to provide and manage the platform, helping customers discover unique handmade products while supporting a growing community of independent sellers. We provide the technology, customer support and marketplace services that make buying and selling possible.
Products listed on Made By Mums are sold by individual sellers through our platform.
Buying Through Our Marketplace
When you place an order through Made By Mums, your purchase is made from the seller responsible for that product.
Sellers are responsible for:
- The products they offer for sale
- Product descriptions and product information
- Product quality and accuracy
- Product safety and regulatory compliance
- Fulfilling customer orders
We encourage all sellers to provide clear, accurate and up-to-date information to help customers make informed purchasing decisions. These obligations form part of our Seller Terms & Conditions. Where we become aware that these standards are not being met, we will investigate and take appropriate action, which may include requiring amendments to listings or removing products from sale where necessary.
Our Responsibilities
As the marketplace operator, Made By Mums is responsible for maintaining and managing the platform itself.
This includes:
- Providing the marketplace through which sellers can advertise and sell products
- Supporting customers and sellers
- Maintaining marketplace policies and standards
- Reviewing concerns raised about products or sellers
- Taking action where products or listings may breach our policies
Where necessary, we may remove products, suspend sellers or take other appropriate action to help protect our customers and the wider marketplace community.
Product Safety
We take product safety seriously. If we become aware of a potential safety concern relating to a product listed on Made By Mums, we will:
- Investigate the concern
- Contact the relevant seller
- Remove the product from sale while enquiries are carried out
- Contact affected customers where appropriate
- Share information with relevant authorities where required
Customers who have concerns about the safety of a product purchased through Made By Mums are encouraged to contact us so that we can investigate further.
