Handmade highlights - new to Made By Mums this week

Firstly, happy Mother’s Day… to our mothers, mothers to be, step mothers, grannies, nanas, dads who are being mother and father, and mothers that never got to hold their babies. For a lot of us, today has been nothing like we have experienced before, or would have wished for, but we have all felt love for our families.

10 of our talented makers have found time to list items with us this week. Let’s check out the selection of makes that we have chosen to share with you tonight.

There are many more new gift ideas to browse across their shops (which you can now search for by name). One thing that we’ve noticed over here is that we’re having a slight delay in post as essential mail and cargo is getting priority at the moment. I am sure that we can all appreciate the very good reasons for this and factor it in when ordering.

Please don’t panic! There’s no need to bombard your seller with chasing messages unnecessarily; they can do no more to speed things up than you can. They want you to get your happy post as soon as possible too! On that subject, a big thank you to those folks who are keeping these vital links up and running.

Ok, grab yourself a cuppa, and let’s get started!

There is going to be a lot of organising going on in the next week or so as parents and carers are looking to get some sort of schedule together to give themselves and their children some sort of structure.

Up-Cycled Storage Jar

To help you keep your pens and pencils tidily together, why not get yourself one of these beautiful upcycled storage jars from Nutty Knots? Made in a beautiful Bohemian-inspired design using a vibrant orange recycled cotton cord, this jar is ready for dispatch for £20 (incl. UK postage). Alternatively, others can be custom made with your choice of colours. Just pop it in the customisation box when ordering. Please note this is a decorative item and should not be given to young children, so please display in an appropriately safe place. If you chose to use the jar for a candle please be extra careful of positioning and handling.

Set Of 4 Round Colour Block Coasters

Whilst you’re working out your t-rex from your triceratops (I’m sure that your 4 yr old will be only too happy to tell you which one is which!), you’re going to need a cuppa. To save your furniture from ring marks, Wiggles Bear has added some gorgeous new coaster sets, including these round colour block coasters in teal, mustard and white. She also has some in black, grey and silver which are ready to be posted to you for £17 (incl. UK postage). Or, choose you own colours by popping them in the customisation box when ordering – your very own bespoke coasters could be with you in 2 to 3 weeks.

Engagement Gift Set Of 2 Mugs

Whilst we’re on the subject of cuppas, have you seen the super cute set of two engagement mugs that H and W Store have added to their shop this week? Such a sweet gift for a celebrating couple. For just £12.99 (incl. UK postage) you can add some personalisation to the mugs by using the customisation option when ordering, and they will be posted to you in their own white presentation boxes.

Easter Mini Tote Bag

Another celebration that is coming up for a lot of us is the end of Lent and Easter. Hannahs Baby Bibs has added a lovely Easter Bunny tote bag which is just the perfect place for an egg, or for a little one to use on an egg hunt around the place! For just £5 (incl. UK postage) this delightful tote bag can be hopping over to you! 😊

Crochet Name Bunting

If you fancied giving them something other than chocolate for Easter (or at any other time), The Lilac Ladybird has added a crochet name bunting to her shop. The one shown is for ‘Archie’ and is six letters and costs £15 (incl. UK postage), but other colours and names can be made. If it’s for 6 letters, just pop your choices in the personalisation box, it if is for more letters, just pop me a message via the Facebook page and I will get in touch with her for you. 😊 x

That bunting would be a perfect decoration for a nursery or child’s bedroom, and we’ve also got a couple of blankets this week that would be a lovely addition and keep your little pickle warm.

Now, we love a good pun or play on words in our house, so we couldn’t resist showing you this ‘Peek – a – bow’ blanket added by Cheshire Crochet & Craft this week. This beautifully soft and chunky blanket in mint and yellow has a row of yellow bows at one end. All this snuggliness can be yours for just £45 (incl. UK postage).

Lace Top Baby Mittens

If you’re looking for an adorable pair of mittens for a newborn, to keep those tiny little fingers warm as it is still a bit chilly, Whiteheartjane has added some beautiful lace top knitted mittens ones to her shop. The ones shown are in a lovely yellow yarn, but you can choose your own colour preferences by popping a note in the customisation box when you order. A lovely little gift for just £5.50 (incl. UK postage), and she has some matching lace top booties in her shop… just saying! 😉

Handmade nappy wallet

If you’re practically minded with regard to baby presents or, like me, forever yelling at the older child to help hunt down some wipes whilst trying to keep a poopy butt away from everything, then new seller Niamhs Neverland has a great solution for you in this handmade nappy wallet. At just £23.95 (incl. UK postage) these wallets can hold a few nappies, a packet of wipes, nappy bags and have space for a few extras like creams. These would make a fantastic ‘emergency pack’ for the car or at granny’s, or just mean that you wouldn’t have to carry your bag into the changing room with you. Which, let’s face it, is preferable when you have a squirming worm with a stinky present to get changed and you need both hands as free as possible! 😂

Hug in a bag

And lastly, I am sure that we could all do with a hug, or know somebody that needs one at the moment. Unfortunately that isn’t possible for the time being, but what you can do is send them a ‘Bear-hug in a bag’. For just £5.50 (incl. UK postage) Stitches and Stones has a cute little bear that comes in a drawstring bag full of hugs and love.
