It’s #handmadehighlights time! We have 9 gorgeous new handmade creations to share from the recent items added to #MadeByMums, so let’s get started.

Halloween is creeping up on us fast – this Saturday in fact – and coincidentally it’s where we start this week’s Wrap Up… Spooky! 👻

If you’re looking for decorations, our Halloween collection is full of wonderful ways to get things looking suitably frightful! Find them all over on the website – madebymums.co/halloween.

Our first item this week can be found in this very collection – and is this great Welsh beeswax Halloween Skull candle set from The Beeswax Emporium! For £14.99 you will receive a 10cm skull candle, 5 beeswax tea lights, and 6 wax melts. They come in a choice of white or yellow, so please remember to pop your choice in the order notes when ordering. It also helps support local and ethical bee farmers from the Gower peninsula, how fab is that!

Staying with birdies, Makepeacemade has added a sweet set of 2 penguin baskets to her shop this week. Handmade to order for a price of £22, these mum penguin and chick basket containers would be perfect to keep Christmas treats in. Yet these penguins are not just for Christmas, and we think that they would make a beautiful and useful storage solution to any penguin fan’s room.

Another beautiful decorative piece is this stunning crochet dreamcatcher from OffTheHookCrochetByLucy. Costing £21.50, they are made to order in a colour scheme of your choice. Just pop your preferences in the box when ordering and in 3 weeks your personalised dreamcatcher will be on it’s way to you. If you are buying one as a gift for a child that is struggling to sleep then the maker can add a card from “the sleep elves’ at no extra charge – what a lovely little touch that is 😊 It should be noted that these are decorative pieces and not toys to be played with.

Another symbol of good fortune is the Japanese “bird of happiness”, the crane. The Crane is one of the prints available in Psquared’s scrunchies and this is priced at £9. The other prints are both priced at £10 each, and are the Golden Blossom (which can symbolise the chrysanthemum with a meaning of a long and happy life), and the beautiful Japanese Ribbon print design. These scrunchies can be worn on the wrist like a bracelet, or to keep your hair tied back in a ponytail or bun.

Finally… was anyone caught out by the clocks going back overnight?! (go on, admit it!) I can tell you that one of our 2 person team was, and it wasn’t me! 🤪

Rudolph Themed Chalkboard Countdown

One of the first questions that our youngest did ask me this morning though was ‘how long until Christmas’! Luckily I remembered that it is two months today, but if you’re looking for a Christmas countdown ornament, then Wiggles Bear has added this delightful Rudolph themed chalkboard to her shop for just £15. As it is a chalkboard, it can be used year after year, so is an eco-friendly alternative to a single use Advent calendar. Plus, no hyped up on chocolate children! 😉 Please note that she only has the one available this year, so you’d better be quick if you want to snap it up for posting later next week.

Ok, that’s a wrap (up!) Thanks for reading, and have a good week ahead whatever your plans 🧡
