Welcome to our latest #WeekendWrapUp – our tour of all things new on #MadeByMums this week! We have 9 all new items we’ve selected from our fabulous makers, so settle in and lets get started 😊
After a long week and a long night last night, I’m very fittingly starting this week’s selection with this personalised ‘Sleep Tight’ mounted card from One Sassy Scribe. This gift is perfect for children whatever the occasion, and can be created just for you with choice of name and colours, and posted for just £9.99.
If you have little ones like ours, it may take a bit of a walk outside to get them to settle for a nap, and at this time of year there’s a good chance that the weather may be chilly enough to require a hat. Whiteheartjayne has added a selection of delightful ‘Soft as a cloud’ baby hats to her shop this week. Made using one of kerryjaynedesigns patterns, these hats are crocheted with chenille chunky yarn and are sized from newborn to 3 years. If the colour that you would prefer is not listed, please pop a message in the ‘order notes’ on part 3 of the checkout and Jayne will see what she can do. The hats are priced at a flat rate of £8.
If you’re looking for a truly unique cardigan then this pastel rainbow one from Charlie’s Crochet is available for £10. Using her own knitting pattern, this gloriously technicolour garment is sized for a toddler (2-4 years) and would help keep them warm.
Speaking of Autumn, if you’re in need of something to keep your ears warm, but fancy a change from a hat, how about one of these lovely crochet ear warmers from The Lilac Ladybird? Crocheted using an autumnal coloured yarn, these one size fits all adult ear warmers feature a twist and for £12.50 can be made and on its way to you in a couple of days. She does have child sized ones listed in her shop should you want one – take a look in her shop for more!
If the cold tends to drive you inside, you may have some free time in the evenings to expand your journey of self expression through arts and crafts! For budding crocheters feeling ready to branch out into amigurumi, you may be interested in this little nurse crochet pattern from Mintilla_designs. For £3.80 you will receive the downloadable pattern for this 7” nurse. The electronic pattern instructions will include a list of materials and a photo tutorial. If you buy this item through your Made By Mums account, you will also be able to access it through your download library, any time you want!
Thinking of nurses and hobbies that can benefit mental health brings me to this new book of poetry from author Cheryl Lee-White. This collection is titled ‘Poetry to Inspire and Uplift’ and its positive affirmations are sure to raise spirits. Written during the lockdown period, Cheryl is sharing her work to spread happiness and is donating half of all sales revenue to Samaritans. Each book is priced at £6.99.
Speaking of positivity, that time of year when we celebrate peace on earth and good will to all mankind is on the way. What better way to let somebody special know that you are thinking of them than a handcrafted greetings card. This adorable ‘Merry Kiss-mas” hand stitched card from A.E.mbroidery features a bunch of mistletoe and is left blank inside so that there is plenty of room for a personal message. Priced at £3.50, this card is just one in a wide range of unique Christmas cards in her shop.
My last selection for this week is this freestanding reindeer family ornament from Bugbees Creations. Priced between £18 and £22 depending on how many reindeer you require (up to eight), you can either have your family name or individual names engraved, as well as being able to specify the colour that you’d like, at the time of ordering.
That’s all from us for another week. Thanks for reading and have a lovely week ahead 😊
